We invite you to a relaxed weekend workshop of modern calligraphy, where in about 3–3.5 hours you’ll learn the basics of brush pen lettering and create your own hand-lettered piece. The course is ideal for complete beginners – no prior experience is needed.
In a small group (maximum 6 participants), we’ll focus on the core principles of modern calligraphy, pressure control, and smooth strokes. We’ll go through a short alphabet, and step by step you’ll try creating your own word or a short phrase.

Workshop outline
The workshop takes place in the calm, supportive atmosphere of the kaš-mi-daš stationery universe and includes these approximate stages:
Introduction to modern calligraphy
- getting to know the tools and principles of brush pen lettering
- explaining pressure control – thin and thick strokes
- basic hand warm-up and loosening exercises
Lettering practice
- practicing individual strokes
- working through a short alphabet
- using the workbook and practice sheets
Creating your own lettering
- combining letters into words
- testing composition on tracing paper
- final lettering of your chosen word or short phrase

Instructor Tereza
My name is Tereza Pomyjová and I have been practicing modern calligraphy for more than four years. In my work, I focus mainly on brush pen lettering, smooth strokes, and finding a distinctive personal style. I enjoy combining technique with lightness and the joy of the writing process itself.
I see calligraphy as a way to slow down, focus, and reconnect with making things by hand. I love sharing my experience and creating a space where everyone can calmly try writing, creating, and discovering their own style – without pressure to perform or be perfect.
Where the workshop takes place
All workshops take place below deck in our kaš-mi-daš stationery universe. Beneath the stationery shop and café, we have a space where workshops and courses happen in peace and quiet, even during opening hours. During the class, you can order a delicious drink from our café – and those are always included in the price.
