Esterbrook Model J – historic design reimagined for modern writing
The Esterbrook Model J collection draws inspiration from the brand's iconic mid-century writing instruments. It preserves their elegant silhouette and vintage character while incorporating modern construction and a reliable interchangeable nib system. Its full-sized, well-balanced body provides comfortable writing both posted and unposted.
The pen body is crafted from ebonite, a hardened form of natural rubber. This traditional material is valued for its durability, visual depth and pleasantly warm surface, which quickly adapts to the temperature of the hand. Over time, ebonite may develop a natural patina and soft lustre, allowing the appearance of each pen to evolve with use.
The pen is fitted with a gold-plated JoWo #6 steel nib. Its threaded nib unit can easily be exchanged for another available nib width or a specialist grind. The Model J therefore combines traditional materials and historic aesthetics with the versatility expected by contemporary writers.
