A special iron gall ink in an elegant amber glass bottle with a volume of 60 ml.

This type of ink has a unique property - it darkens on the paper over time and penetrates deeply into its structure, making the text remarkably stable and water-resistant.

It stands out for its carefully optimized properties for smooth writing.

The specially tinted bottle effectively protects the ink from harmful UV radiation and thus ensures the long-term preservation of its properties.

    Important notice:

Because of the chemical composition of iron gall inks, we recommend using them only in pens you use every day. Do not leave this type of ink unused in a fountain pen for long periods.

Iron gall inks are traditional inks widely used until the middle of the 20th century. Their popularity came chiefly from their very intense dark color. Iron gall inks readily penetrated deep into the structure of paper, making text written with them remarkably stable and water-resistant.

KWZ iron gall inks are modern iron gall inks, which differ in certain properties from iron gall inks made in the early twentieth century. All inks in the  Iron Gall range are true solutions - they contain no undissolved solids and no strong mineral acids to stabilize the ink (such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid).

Iron gall inks require more care from fountain pen users than standard inks. At this link you will find a set of tips for using iron gall inks in fountain pens, which may be particularly useful when using this type of ink in fountain pens with steel nibs.

Because iron gall inks darken over time, all swatches were scanned or photographed at least one week after the swatch was made on paper.
