Bookbinding workshop: Photo album

ws fotoalba Paul (1)

Memories deserve more than just digital storage. In this photo album bookbinding workshop, you’ll create your own album to preserve photos from a holiday, a family celebration, or any other important moment. The album will be large enough for photos up to 15 × 20 cm and will be made entirely by your hands – from the first pages to the final binding.

Alongside the binding itself, we’ll also focus on an author-designed cover. Using brush-and-ink painting, you’ll create an original design – it can carry a specific motif connected to the album’s content, or emerge as an abstract pattern. Each album will be unique and personal.

Your instructor

Instructor Paul

My name is Paul Tuttas and I am a graphic designer, visual artist, and illustrator. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Regensburg and my Master’s degree in Illustration and Graphics at UMPRUM in Prague.

I am interested in everything that forms a book – its cover, graphic layout, illustrations, and the binding itself. In the workshop, I will share my experience with you and guide you through the process in which individual sheets of paper transform into a distinctive book created by your own hands.
