How the workshop works

The workshop takes place in a calm, creative atmosphere and includes these approximate stages:

Introduction and inspiration

  • transferring your motif onto the lino (and explaining mirroring)
  • tips on working with shape, line, and contrast

Carving the lino

  • safe handling of carving tools
  • carving step by step under the instructor’s guidance
  • ongoing consultations and refining details

Printing and the final impression

  • applying ink and working with the ink pad
  • test prints and adjustments
  • final print of your A6 linocut

In the end, you will take home an original linocut print, along with new skills and inspiration for your own work.

Your instructor

Instructor Mirella

My name is Mirella and I’m an artist. In my home studio in Prague, I create hand-printed linocuts on paper and textiles. I work with traditional art techniques, and what I enjoy most is printmaking — every impression is an original with its own charm. I’ve been living in the Czech Republic for ten years, and I’ll be happy to share my joy of creating with you during the workshop.

I will guide you through the whole process clearly, step by step – from the first design to the final print.
