Product detailed description
The pen has a flexible steel nib and a handmade ebonite feed which together support smooth ink flow and natural line variation as the pressure changes. Its piston filling mechanism with a blind cap allows convenient refilling from a bottle and reliable performance even during longer writing sessions.
The body is made from eco-friendly plant-based resin (vegetal resin) – a lightweight, durable and biodegradable material. Noodler’s Konrad is a pen for those who want to control ink flow: the nib and feed can be easily adjusted or removed for a personalised setup.
Why you will love it
- Shade: orange-amber with tortoiseshell marbling and a translucent body.
- Flex nib: steel, responsive to hand pressure – allowing a lively, varied line.
- Handmade ebonite feed: ensures smooth ink flow.
- Piston mechanism: easy bottle filling, protected by an end cap.
- Eco-friendly material: plant-based celluloid resin – lighter and kinder to nature.
Tips for writing with a flex pen
- Apply gentle pressure on downstrokes – the nib opens to create a richer line.
- Write more slowly so the ink can flow smoothly.
- If the flow slows, let the pen rest briefly or tap the nib lightly against the paper.
- The nib and feed can be fine-tuned – the deeper they are inserted, the more intense and richer the ink flow.
Care and maintenance
- Before first use, flush the pen with water and a drop of detergent.
- This removes manufacturing oil residue from the ebonite feed and ensures smooth ink flow.
- A slight material odour is a natural property of plant-based resin and will fade over time.
