    The Phantom of the Opera – cool blue and a red contrast

    The Phantom of the Opera translates the dark atmosphere of Gaston Leroux’s novel into a deep cobalt blue. In heavily saturated areas, a vivid red surface sheen appears, recalling a red rose in the cold, mysterious underground of the opera house.

    Ink character

    The dark cobalt blue offers visible shading. On less absorbent paper, saturated areas can develop a red sheen that adds another layer of colour.
