Ink of the Month - October

The October edition of our Ink of the Month series is Limited Edition – Tunnel of Japanese clover.

An ink inspired by the vivid colour of a tunnel of Japanese clover that blooms each autumn in the gardens of Mukojima Hyakkaen. Its rich, lively shade captures one of the striking colours of the Japanese autumn.

The story behind the colour

Tunnel of Japanese clover was inspired by the memory of a tunnel covered in Japanese clover at Mukojima Hyakkaen gardens in Tokyo.

Each autumn, the path transforms into a profusion of delicate flowers and intense pink-purple colour. This brief seasonal moment became the inspiration for an ink that feels fresh, vivid and at the same time beautifully delicate.

It is a colour connected with the changing seasons – capturing a moment that returns every year, yet is never quite the same.

Curated by Kakimori

Tunnel of Japanese clover belongs to the Colour specimen series – a collection inspired by encounters with colour in everyday moments.

  • selected and created by the Kakimori team,
  • inspired by a particular place and seasonal moment,
  • created as a seasonal, one-time edition,
  • available only in limited quantities.

Colour specimen is a reminder that a strong memory of colour can come from a brief encounter with nature – even an autumn walk through a garden.
